- Celebrating my new niece Lydia at Maggie's shower in Houston
- Lots of library events: orientations, an awesome author visit, book fair, and new school purchasing are all underway - what a busy month!
- Matt finally moved into his new office following a few weeks of construction and camping out in the department reception area
- Fun with work friends, college friends, and Junior League friends, including a return adventure to McKinney Oktoberfest - prost! If we end up moving downtown, maybe we'll be able to walk next year.

Houston Shower Weekend

To celebrate Baby Abbott's arrival, my mom and I headed to Houston earlier this month for my sister's first baby shower. We had a fun girls weekend baby shopping, eating out, my mom's much anticipated Talbot's outlet trip, and the obligatory stop at Buc-ee's for sodas and jerky.
Of course, the most fun was celebrating baby Lydia with Maggie's Houston-area friends and family. She got tons of great gifts, and her nursery is super cute, as expected. See you in October for Shower #2!

After a BBQ birthday last year, we kept it closer to home this year and celebrated my day earlier this month with fun in Texomaland.
Now that Matt works nearby, we spent a day exploring the area (lake house anyone?) before heading to the casino - and promptly losing $25 in a few minutes. Choctaw in Durant was actually nice and quite packed for Labor Day. We finished the loop back with a Mexican dinner, flowers, and a new swiss army knife - thanks for a fun birthday daytrip Matt!
